The programme
10:00 - 10:30
ongi etorria
Hello! We are happy for you to come and join us. Meet some new people and connect with friends. You will be welcomed with refreshments as we prepare to meet together. There is limited parking on site, so it is recommended to park in Bedarona and walk down to the farmhouse (0.5 km / 10 minute walk). Direct bus services operate from Bilbao and Lekeitio (A2313 Bizkaibus). If weather permits, we will open up a field to park on.
10:30 - 11:30
a time to fellowship
We start with God. We spend some time together in worship and prayer.
11:30 - 13:00
a chance to share
We share to get to know everyone who came. There is a wealth of experience and faithfulness in the Basque country. We want to hear about God’s faithfulness, and the initiatives you are involved with.
13:00 - 15:00
an opportunity to network
We will serve lunch and drinks. With a pintxo in one hand and a txakoli in the other, this is the time to network and connect with others. Meet new people, explore the open spaces, pray together, make new friends, laugh until you cry, cry until you laugh, it’s all about connecting and building each other up.
15:00 - 16:00
blessing and closure
We want to learn what God is saying to us for the Basque country. We encourage and bless each other.
16:00 - 20:00
connecting people
You are invited to stay for a roast and more drinks. The best things happen when we hang out and celebrate each other.
Your questions answered
Can I bring children?
Yes, but it helps if they are yours! We will be providing a creche for babies and activities and games for young children too.
Will it go on all day?
Most of the day, yes. But we will finish by 16:00 leaving you with the chance to stay on until 20:00 for a bbq roast which you probably won’t want to miss!
What should I bring?
- Some walking boots / gum boots in case you want to explore the surrounding area
- A waterproof jacket (this is Euskal “euria”!)
- A bible, notebook, business cards, promotional items from your projects to share
- Videos or presentations should be sent prior to the day so that we can make sure they all work!
What language is it going to be in?
Mainly in English, but also some Basque. This pilot event is specifically geared towards international Christians living in the Basque Country. We are planning a separate event in the future in Basque.
Will there be food?
Lots. Olabe is a farm and all the ingredients and products are sourced locally (except the coffee and tea).
Will there be cute little lambs?
Yes. There will be lambs to look at, hold, take instagram photos with and also to eat.
